Properly fit a GM 4.2L inline 6 on 2002 Trailblazer
Worked perfectly for me on a 4.2L inline 6 on a 2002 Trailblazer. Greased up the washers and threads of rod where nut would travel (not the portion threaded into nose of crankshaft) and pulled new damper on without any issues. Rod backed out of crankshaft afterwards with ease. Money well spent!

Great inexpensive tool to re install a harmonic balancer. Its much longer than the bolt for an LS6 (pictured) so I was able to place the balancer on the shaft and then install the tool with extra length to tighten the balancer down. It was a snap to reinstall with this tool. Without it I would still be wondering how to complete the job. Be sure to grease or lubricate the threads where the nut is so you dont damage the threads. I also lightly greased the washers.

Edit: This balanced installer works well, and I like the thrust bearing. The seller contacted me and reimbursed me for the cost of my hardware store trip. I would still recommend checking for all parts before starting your install! My new balancer is on, so Im happy.

This is not super useful without the flange nut. I dont want to delay my project by waiting for the seller to ship just a nut to me, so off to the hardware store.

This was a time saver replacing the balancer on my Trailblazer.

Keep it oiled and use with good wrench set
Worked as expected. I kept the rod from bottom the crankshaft and then wedged the 13mm rod end wrench against the power steering wheel. Worked like a charm. The elongated nut is a nice touch.

Did not fit
It did not fit on my Chevy silverado 2003 1500 4.3L. Too big

To short
The shaft is way to short to pull a ATI or truck balancer on. This product did not work on my 6.0L LQ9

Unusable garbage
I ordered this for the LS2 (L77) engine i was working on and need a harmonic balancer install tool so i ordered this one. It has a lot of good reviews but when the item arrived it was bent and couldnt be used without damaging the crankshaft on my engine. if you need a harmonic balancer installation tool go to AUTOZONE, they have one for rent and it works perfectly.

Junk tool.
Washer Included were junk and bent first fi.s using the tool. Causing the tool to strip the threads well backing it out.

Not reliable or worth the money. Could have caused my to have to replace the entire engine

All the people here saying it isnt straight are completely correct. Its got a bend to it. But its cheap, and the bend isnt bad enough to do any harm. Just be smart about the threads and make sure nothing is galling or malformed – stop if it feels wrong – and it works fine.

I got an ATI SuperDamper on the front of a GenV LT1 with this easily.

My local AutoZone didnt have one to rent, so this is the next best thing in the cheapness department.

Extra star for the nice threaded hole in the end for a hook to hang it on the wall after youre done.

Bearin is horrible
The bearing came apart completely with first use. Didnt even get to install the balance. Didnt go 1/4 of the way before it was broken

Not highest quality bearing, but should work several times. Use lots of lube.

Seems perfect, but cheap materials make it a waste
I needed to install my super damper so I bought this while ordering some other stuff. It fit well and seemed like it would work, but when the damper was about 1/3 of the way pressed on, the bearings completely disintegrated in to almost powder. I borrowed another, more known brand of installer, and the new balancer went on without issue. So dont waste money on this. It isnt made strong enough to do its job.
